You’re in the right place

You’ve been holding it together for a long time.

Maybe it’s anxiety that never fully quiets. A past that keeps crashing into your present. A kid who’s bright but drowning. A marriage running on fumes — or a numbness you can’t explain. You’ve probably already tried things: white-knuckling it, the podcasts, maybe even therapy that just talked in circles.

Here’s what we know after thousands of sessions: you’re not broken, and you don’t need more willpower. Your nervous system is stuck — and stuck systems don’t heal by talking about the problem harder. They heal with the right kind of help.

What Makes us Different

We Don’t Just Manage Symptoms. We Heal at the Root.

What sets us apart is simple: we treat the whole of you, not just the symptoms. Our work blends modern trauma therapy—EMDR, clinical hypnotherapy, and neurofeedback—with Indigenous wisdom: a one-of-a-kind healing path.

Brandi Sweet, LCSW, ACHT, founder of NATIVation Counseling

Why NATIVation Is Unlike Anywhere Else

At NATIVation Counseling, we offer more than traditional talk therapy — a culturally grounded approach that addresses trauma the medicine wheel way: physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual.

Therapy, somatic body work, hypnotherapy, and neurofeedback. Most practices offer one of these — we integrate all four around your goals.

qEEG brain maps show how your brain is actually doing — before you start, mid-program, and at the end. Proof, not guesswork. And with Feedback-Informed Treatment (FIT), every session stays aimed at where you want to be.

Breathwork and body-based trauma release, woven into therapy, hypnotherapy, and neurofeedback.

Founded on Indigenous healing wisdom, welcoming every background — individuals, families, professionals, and Tribal Nations.

Meet Our Founder

Why I built NATIVation

I’m Brandi Sweet, LCSW, ACHT — a member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa — Anishinaabe and Métis — and a trauma therapist who got tired of watching people talk in circles for years without actually healing. So I built the practice I couldn’t find: EMDR, hypnotherapy, and neurofeedback, woven together with the healing wisdom of my ancestors — and open to absolutely everyone.

Today our team serves individuals, couples, and families across Utah, Missouri, and Arizona. What we want for you is simple: not endless coping — your whole self back.

Positive Reviews From Our Patients

NATIVation Counseling helped me reconnect with parts of myself I thought were lost forever. The healing I experienced here was beyond anything I ever expected.

Sarah T.

Brandi’s approach combines heart, wisdom, and Indigenous healing that resonated deeply with me. I’ve never felt more understood.

John D.

I’ve tried so many different therapies, but the combination of Indigenous wisdom and modern techniques at NATIVation Counseling was life-changing. I finally feel at peace with my past.

Emilee K.

Brandi seems to get me. She listened and actually seemed to care about my life. I would say she has experienced life herself. I highly recommend her.

Vicky S.

I have been seeing Brandi Sweet for therapy the last several years and I can attest that she is the best therapist I've ever worked with. I have a background in several kinds of trauma and it's not the easiest for me to find a therapist that can provide me what I need. Brandi, however, guides me through sessions combining different modalities and healing techniques, allowing me to dive deep and get "unstuck." The last few years have seen my greatest growth to date and I truly think I would not be as far along without Brandi. Her patience, kindness, empathy, and strong leadership to me have really made an incredible difference. I recommend any and all to visit NATIVation Counseling.

Francis L.

My weekly therapy session with Haleigh has become one of the most transformative spaces I have experienced in the last couple of years. She is warm and compassionate and caring, but also really, really smart. I am so appreciative of NATIVation for connecting me with Haleigh.

Karla A.

Haleigh is someone you can count on because she’s compassionate, dependable, and always brings her best to every session. She is always there when you need her and will always be supportive. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her as a therapist.

Kaitlyn L.

I specifically chose this practice because of their values and the way they center Indigenous wisdom and cultural understanding. I see Victoria for personal therapy, and she has been incredible — she helps me reconnect with my feelings and spirit in a way that feels grounding. I’ve been telling everyone I know how amazing the therapists at NATIVation are.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Not at all. Our care is rooted in Indigenous healing wisdom and open to people of every background — everyone is welcome here.

No — it’s a personal preference. Some people do better at home, some do better in the office, and you can do both (that’s called hybrid). Therapy and hypnotherapy work either way; what matters is that you show up.

Yes. We recommend starting with a consultation to find the best healing path for you.

Yes — and we do it a little differently. Children get the best results when their parents build regulation skills too. It’s attachment science: children attune to their parents, and parents who are attuned to themselves raise regulated kids. So while we absolutely work with your child, we’ll often recommend starting with — or adding — parent work. Healing you is one of the most powerful things we can do for them.

We use the Medicine Wheel approach — physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual, woven together and integrated into everything we do. We also work with varied states of consciousness — no substances, ever — reached naturally through breathing, body work, and deep trance. Our whole goal is to help you become the person of your highest potential.

They work from opposite directions. Neurofeedback trains your brain from the bottom up — teaching your nervous system to regulate itself — while therapy and hypnotherapy work from the top down, processing the experiences underneath. A regulated brain makes therapy faster and deeper, and because we re-map along the way, you can actually see the change, not just feel it.

Without insurance, therapy sessions are $139–$169, and Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy is $254 (we offer package discounts). We’re also in-network with insurance in each state we serve — plans vary by state, so check your location’s page, and we’ll verify your specific benefits before your first session. If we’re not in-network with your plan, we can provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement. We also offer financing through CareCredit — a flexible healthcare credit card you can also use with dentists, doctors, vets, and thousands of other providers. You can apply privately online or we’ll help you apply over the phone, then just tell us you’d like to use it.

The easiest way to begin is to book directly through our scheduling portal, or reach out through our contact page or at 385-503-8398, and we’ll help you find the right clinician and time. Not quite ready? You can start with a brief consultation first — no pressure, just a chance to see if we’re the right fit.

Mostly, it’s a chance to get to know each other. You’ll settle into the waiting room, and your clinician will come out to greet you and bring you into our calming, low-lit space. Most people feel a little nervous at first — that’s exactly where we start, with safety and connection. We show up as real people, not clinicians behind a clipboard. Your clinician will cover the practical basics (scheduling, privacy, what to expect), then we begin with whatever brought you in. Getting to know you often takes a couple of sessions — there’s no rush.

No — we’re therapists, not prescribers, so we don’t manage or prescribe medication. But we’re not anti-medication either. Our belief is “and, not instead of”: if medication is part of your care, we’ll work alongside you and your prescriber; if you’d rather explore other paths first, we honor that too. Many people come to us hoping to feel better without relying on medication alone — we meet you wherever you are.

Yes. Your sessions are private and protected under HIPAA. The only exceptions are the legal limits every therapist shares — situations involving imminent safety or where the law requires disclosure — and your clinician will walk you through those in your first session. Whether you meet in person or online, we use secure, confidential platforms.

We ask for at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations and no-shows are subject to a $100 fee. Life happens, though — if something comes up, reach out as early as you can and we’ll do our best to work with you.
